Who We Are
The Colorado River District is a 15-county special district in Western Colorado. Our mission is to lead in the protection, conservation, use, and development of the water resources of the Colorado River basin for the welfare of the District, and to safeguard for Colorado all waters of the Colorado River to which the state is entitled. Each staff member at the District contributes to this mission, serving constituents across Western Colorado.

Geotechnical Engineer
The Geotechnical Engineer performs technical, project management, advocacy, and engineering work. This position includes analyzing, interpreting, and managing dam embankment instrumentation data and ensuring the integrity and safety of dam structures through diligent monitoring and technical studies. The role involves project management responsibilities, coordinating with consultants and contractors to complete dam, reservoir, recreation area, and mitigation area-related projects.
Hiring Salary Range: $101,000 – $126,000

Administrative Specialist
The Administrative Specialist supports the organization through performing a variety of administrative functions. Serves as the primary support team member for office administration. Supports systems management such as the phone system administration, audio/video system administration, and office equipment. Serves as the fleet vehicle manager scheduling maintenance and reconciling mileage logs. Provides meeting logistics support for regular Board meetings and other on- and off-site meetings. Works with the Records and Contracts Administrator to assist with document management efforts for the organization. Additionally, the Administrative Specialist provides project management support on a variety of special projects across all departments.
Hiring Salary Range: $50,000 – $65,000
