A Seat at the Table: Washington, DC

In our nation’s capitol, decisions are made everyday which affect the well-being of communities on the Western Slope of Colorado. The Colorado River District’s mission charges us with protecting the waters of the Colorado River to which our state is entitled. Staff members regularly visit Washington, DC during the legislative session to maintain healthy, working relationships with our federal elected representatives.

Colorado River District staff members including the Director of Government Relations, General Manager, and legal counsel frequently provide expert testimony in relevant hearings. The River District also utilizes its technical staff’s expertise to develop comprehensive studies and reports to better inform policy makers when information is needed to provide context for their decisions.
