OFFICE CLOSURE
Though the Colorado River District is operating, the District’s office will
be closed starting March 13th in an effort to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus in our community. The office will remain closed until at least March 27th. Our staff is working remotely, and we are available by calling the office at 970-945-8522 or by directly emailing staff. To reach us, please leave a message in our general mailbox, which will be continuously monitored from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. We will return your message as soon as possible.

Yampa River Fund’s First Grant Cycle is Open
Applicants Have Until March 24, 2020 to Apply
The Yampa River Fund is now accepting applications for its first round of grants. The fund has approximately $100,000 to $200,000 available to award to successful applicants. Applicants will have between February 11 and March 24, 2020 to submit applications.
The Yampa River Fund will invest in projects that will:
- Enhance water security for communities, agriculture, the economy, and the natural environment in the Yampa Valley;
- Support a healthy, flowing river and enhance critical low flows through water leases from reservoirs, and;
- Maintain or improve river function through a holistic approach to restoration of riparian and/or in-channel habitat.

2020 Current Water Issues on the Western Slope
Join the Colorado Association of Stormwater and Floodplain Managers for a seminar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, April 3 at the Glenwood Springs Community Center. The agenda is being developed but topics will include pre-fire mudflow planning, aquatic habitat considerations, hazard mitigation planning, stormwater management and Drought Contingency Planning. Registration is $30, and the registration deadline is 5 p.m. April 1. More information is available here.
